Frequently Asked Questions

What is this?
The internet is an increasingly ridiculous place, so I figured I'd might as well at least make it ridiculous in a way I enjoy. Welcome to my website. I made this crap myself with my own sweat, tears, and html tutorials. Prepare to be amazed. Or not. I'm not the boss of you. Also it's going to take a while before this website works properly. Condolences.

What do you write?
I primarily write queer romance, erotica, and horror. Usually a bit of all three rolled up in a ball and smushed together.

What are your inspirations?
For my current project, Miss Melody McNamara's Marvelous Menagerie (called just Menagerie for simplicity from here on out), I found my inspiration several places. I wanted the serialized story to feel sort of old and pulpy while also creating a fresh twist on things with my own personal experiences both a queer person and an autistic person. I've personally identified heavily with cyborgs from a young age. Go figure. Data is my boi.

I have a deep love of horror, especially the weird psychological stuff and Cronenberg-esque body horror. I also enjoy stories that mix the mundane with the surreal - David Lynch is one of my favorite inspirations for that sort of thing. I'll also note Anne Rice here because she heavily shaped how I think of vampires.

As a manga and anime fan, I also enjoy leaning heavily on tropes found there. Reading Chobits in high school was what originally made me interested in the idea of companion dolls (aka: cyborgs that people want to fuck). Not to mention Ghost in the Shell. I was, of course, later introduced to the use of dolls in the transhumanism sense. And the regular ol' trans sense. And also the hypo-fetish sense. The list goes on.

What are your plans for all this?
In the long run, I think it would be cool as heck to turn my written serials into audio so people can enjoy listening to them. In the completely opposite direction - I want to get to a point where I can commission art and possibly start up a comic to bring each story to life in that way too. It's a lot. I want the initial experience of Menagerie to be one of collaboration, which is why I am releasing it on Patreoen. Members will be able to vote on what happens next in the story - what monster they want to see next or what kink they think would spice things up. It's sorta like what if everyone got into the Holodeck and got to vote on what happened. You're the composers of the stories I create.
